1947–1951 Chevy Truck Door Latches – Altman Easy Latch™

This Altman Easy Latch kit is a vehicle-specific, bolt-on bear jaw rotary claw door latch system designed for 1947–1951 Chevrolet trucks. It replaces worn, tired factory latches with a modern, secure design that allows the doors to open and close smoothly without slamming, while maintaining compatibility with original hardware.

This is not a universal latch kit. The contoured jam plates and latch assemblies are engineered specifically for the factory door structure to ensure proper alignment and reliable operation. The rotary claw latches are designed to work with the original exterior handles, interior handles, and exterior door lock cylinders. All latch components are zinc plated for corrosion resistance, and the internal latch claws are case hardened and zinc plated for strength and long service life.

Each kit includes all components needed to complete both doors, along with templates and detailed installation instructions. No welding is required.

Note: The Altman Easy Latch kit does not allow the doors to be locked from the inside unless power lock actuators are installed.
