1955–1959 Chevy Truck Door Latches – Altman Easy Latch™

This Altman Easy Latch kit is a vehicle-specific, bolt-on bear jaw rotary claw door latch system designed specifically for 1955–1959 Chevrolet trucks. The kit is engineered to provide smooth, secure door operation while retaining compatibility with the factory exterior handles, interior handles, and exterior door lock cylinders. These are not universal latches—each component is contoured and designed to match the factory door structure for proper alignment and function.

This kit requires removal of the factory long interior door panel, as the included installation plates will not work with that panel in place. If retaining the original interior panel is required, an alternate latch option must be used. If power lock actuators are planned, lock kit OLB-101 is required and sold separately.

All latch components are zinc plated for corrosion resistance, with case-hardened internal latch claws for strength and long-term durability. Each kit includes all parts needed to complete both doors, along with templates and detailed installation instructions. No welding is required.
